Ridiculous prices for shoes and people's ignorance/stupidity?

Ok so I want to know why people buy Nike shoes and stuff?Why I ask why pay over hundreds of dollars for a pair of shoes??It’s ridiculous really I want to know why people buy these shoes if the most common ones are just the exact same design and model but different colors.They pay low wages to other countries that make the shoes and make huge profits and I am shocked that people still buy them.

^ I found that to be shocking and stupid that people still buy these kinds of shoes despite campaings that make people aware of the issue and the people that choose to ignore it.

I mean like other shoe companies like Ecko I understand why they would charge over a hundred dollars because they’re designs are Hand-drawn and painted and for the time/labor. Also at least their design doesn’t circle around one design or look it sports more and looks classier and more nice looking those are some wonderful shoes but still please give me you intake on this IDC what kind of comments they are as long as they are about this subject.

Well,Nike is wonderful but guess where all that hard work comes from?…yeah,those poor kids in Pakistan and Cambodia(woking from ages 5-14)who work and are paid 6.5 cents per item sold.Items like this should not be bought as it only encourages the use of cheap labour and if you people are overlooking this,then society if forcing itself blind-or was born so.:-(

I own 3 pairs of shoes. One is a pair of normal everyday shoes, which I got for maybe $15. Had them for nearly 3 years 2nd pair is a pair of steel cap boots, Had them for about 5 years, cost $60 or $70. 3rd pair is a pair of racing motorcycle boots, $200. This is becuse I am pasionate about my racing and even so, these are the cheaper ones!.

I 100% agree with whoever posted this, no point buying $100+ dollar shoes then 2 weeks later ya get another.

So some brand name shoes like italian ones handmade costs even more than those nike ones made in sweat shops. So in actuality it is cheaper to buy those $100 nikes. Cheap shoes don’t wear as well or aren’t as comfortable. A better question is why spend big money on clothing as it serves a less important purpose than shoes.

I don’t know where you shop, but I can get a pair of nikes for around 20 bucks, so thats the only reason I buy them. but other than that I got nothin, shoes are shoes. and why pay a lot for one pair when you can get tons for the same price!
so im not really sure???

maybe nike should reconsider how they make their shoes. but the fact is that advertising esspecially word of mouth makes nike shoes and other big branded shoes better to wear than a cheaper alturnitive. its just how society works. and no one can stop the cycle. basiclly its the media brainwashing citizens to think that big brands are a better buy than the competition. eg. I know my addidas shoes will last me half as long as a cheaper brand for double or tripple the price, but theres no doubting it the next pair I buy will be one of the big brands.

Most people buy Nike’s for the same reason they buy any other shoe… because they like how they look and fit. I personally do not like Nike as I have very low arches and they are a bit painful, I find that Adidas and New Balance have styles that fit my feet better.

If you are going to criticize Nike, don’t stop there… most shoe and clothing is made the same way, very cheap outsourced labour.

I buy nikes because:

-they are an amazing fit -they are a local company (for me) with their headquarters located in oregon -they last -I can afford them (meaning most of them are less than $100) -they are cute -nike is aware of the environment and the fact that shoes can pollute the earth. they are finding ways to make them safe.

just a few reasons why I am a nike girl :)

also…if you think nike is the only company to outsource labor…you’d be mistaken. not that I’m saying that just because other compnies do it that it makes it ok for nike to do it, but nike also does good things…charities…
