How do I remove rust stains from my favourite pants?

That marooo guy is wrong, gasoline stains clothes really badly, try this:

Squeeze lemon juice onto the stain, sprinkle salt onto the lemon juice and let it sit for 24 hours. Refresh the lemon juice to keep the spot damp then blot the stain, do not rub it and rinse it with cool water. If you have to you can repeat this.

oh ..well guys gasoline is good for denims ive tried it otherwise i wouldnt have given this advice

my pants are not denim, they are of very delicate fabric, plus gasoline makes me dizzy cant stand the smell

There is a product called Red-B-gone that works very well in the laundry to remove rust/iron stains. Check your local hardware store or home improvement center.
