Worship is just another way of saying that you devote alot of attention towards something, or you obsessively turn your thoughts towards something. People worship stuff all of the time. Some people, like my friend Spam, worship knowledge and science. Some people worship material things. Money, women, men, celebrities, Justin Beiber. Make a pie chart including all of the things you thought about. At the end of the day, Whatever owns the pie, is what you are worshipping. I have worshipped alot of stuff in my time. Today I have a loving God in my life that I think about constantly. That is a form of worship. This doesnt mean I have to face Mecca, or sit under a Fig tree, or run around a camp fire. To me it means turning my energy towards positive things.
Spirituality is about humility. Being smaller than God. It is not about Worshipping him as an authority figure, it is more about right sizing yourself in this universe.
A scientist made a bet with God. "I bet I can make anything you can only better!' The scientist exclaimed. So God picked up a handful of dirt, blew it from his hand, and out jumped a beautiful Gazel. "No Problem", said the scientist, as he reached for a handful of dirt. "uh huh", said God, "Make your own dirt."
Deism. It claims there is a god, but that the God is not active in the world. The universe is like a clock that, once set up, just moves on it's own.
However, like filetofspam has said, deism have no rituals, writings, core beliefs, moral code, or anything. It's not truly a "religion" as the definition goes.
Have you ever considered that your actions, say, giving a coat to an old homeless guy, are in and of themselves worship? Worship isn't necessarily sitting in a building.
I don't believe so. There is theism, the belief in God but religion is there really to have ways of worshipping a god/gods/goddesses. You can have the belief of a god but not a religion, unless I'm misinformed.
A religion is a system of beliefs, teachings, religious writings, and rituals. A belief without all the other trappings of religion may form a worldview but it falls short of being a religion.
I know something is applicable like that in Jehovah's Witness. worship is something they take very seriously and only can be done a certain way. But really you sound more... agnostic i think?
Good question, I almost wrote that God requires voluntary worship :) But worship comes naturally when one sees good God.
I guess it would be I believe in god, but am not practicing.
