Do rednecks hate black people?

Im dating this guy whos bro is a racist redneck. My classmate told me they will come to my house and kιll me. Since im black dating a white guy,his bro…

Answer #1

Well, I think it depends on people.. Dont worry about brother. The boy chose you, so he will protect you. But ive noticed at my school alot of blonde headed girls arr attracted to african guys.. It depends on the person. As long as you and him are happy. But I live in tennesee, and all the red neck or country boys are more attracted to white females.. So its hard to say if every red neck is racist.. Your bf brother he may of learned it or cant stand interacial.. Thats how my boyfriend was raised to not date any race except your own.. So I guess your bf.bro may of learned that somewhere. Good luck and BE SAFE. And lock your doors and windows. We cant have you murdered!

Answer #2

That’s not even an answerable question. The views of one person can not be used to say how an entire race feels about another.

Answer #4

Is it just me who is offended by the use of the term redneck in this question?

Answer #5

“Redneck” used to mean farmer since people who worked the fields all day in the sun would get the characteristic red neck. Agreed that it has been overloaded with negative connotations but it wasn’t always pejorative and as you probably know now people are trying to reclaim “redneck” as a form of affection rather that derision. It is probably wise to avoid the term unless you know that in the context it is used that it will be interpreted the way you mean it.

Answer #6

the kids at my school love being called “redneck” i atfirst didnt know what it was. my bf even said his bro nd his friends r rednecks.

Answer #7

Just because someone is “redneck” doesn’t mean they hate black people! Some do some don’t. Rednecks are people and they can think what they wish. Some people aren’t rednecks yet they hate black people.

Answer #8

Well Colleen he is most likely a redneck… Besides, saying that is completely besides the point. We are talking about a hardcore racist. We’ll stop using that term when those “rednecks” stop existing.

Answer #9

Do black people hate rednecks? People are different. Some rednecks hate black people, others don’t. I live in the south. There’s a ton of rednecks here, and I can assure you most of them don’t hate black people.

Answer #10

Predjudice crosses all geographical, ethnic and gender lines and it’s really an individual frame of mind. To “categorize” a certain group as being predjudice is a predjudice within itself (to a degree, sometimes it can be correct when you are talking about a cult or an organization such as the kkk for example who have brainwashed it’s members) But in general, rednecks are individual people with their own minds and should’nt be judged just because a few bad apples.

Answer #11

My dad is a bigtime redneck. He has a pickup truck, likes country music, racing, and he is an avid hunter and fisherman. He has black friends from work that he hangs out with, so definitely not all rednecks are racists.

Answer #12

@filletofspam… The term redneck actually comes from the Covenanters resistance movement from the borders of Scotland and England. The presbyterian covenanters opposed the annexation of the church under the auspices of King Charles and wore symbolic red neckerchiefs as a sign of their opposition. The covenanters were parliamentarians and the terms redneck along with roundhead were both pejoratives applied to them by the cavalier supporters of the King. The terms were intended to characterize their opposition as rural, prudish and backwards. Since the midland south was settled mostly by borderer descendants of the covenanters… the name redneck followed them, especially as the tidewater region of the south was settled by more aristocratic supporters of the royalty. Similarly, the term Hillbilly denotes the same presbyterian supporters of William, “Billy” of Orange’s bid to the British throne. It was initially and has always been a pejorative, and properly attributed to specific ethnicities, eg, Ulster Scots, Lowland Scots, and Borderer English. Not that the stereotype is without merit… but the fact that exaggerated and extremely negative portrayals with little compunction are still commonplace and uniquely accepted by modern society belies a hypocrisy we’ve yet to acknowledge.
