How thorough is recycling where you live?

Does the dustman pick up the recycling along with the trash, and how thoroughly must you separate items? For example, are plastics, packaging, styrofoam and aluminum in the same container or do you have to separate them too?

its alrite here in england,i think everyones got recycle bins just for recycle stuff nd its get collected every other week.

We’ve got two trash cans here. There’s a different company that picks up the recycling, and it’s only once every other week. There’s only two bins, so everything that gets recycled goes in one bin. I’ve seen other places recycle a little bit more throughly (like plastics in one), but that seems to be done by larger places like the airport and not something generally done by individual people. It is also not mandatory.

Not very well around in Michigan. we all have recycling bins that get picked up by the state to be recycled, but they won’t accept used pizza boxes or Styrofoam which should be recycled seeing as it is man made

Here they come pick up recyclyling material on a different day than the treash, here they don’t even care, we don’t have to separate them or nothing, they just give us one bin and that’s where we put everything and they take care of the rest.
