What is a good recipe I could use banana peppers in?

Answer #1

I know sometimes they put them on Italian subs; like with salami, ham, bologna, and cheese. Other than that, I don’t really know.

Answer #2

Spanks!

Answer #3

Brown bulk sausage and drain thoroughly. Mix in with a cheese sauce or easy melting cheese of your choosing. Slice the top of the banana pepper off and make a slit down one side, removing the seeds. Then spoon the sausage/cheese into the pepper. Cover the entire pepper with store-bought canned cresent rolls to seal them up (Some peppers require more then one cresent section to completely incase. Bake according to the cresent roll can.

You can also use them in omlettes, a pizza topping, or in a relish. They are versatile and can be cleaned, cut, and frozen for later use in recipes.

Your welcome they make a great appetizer. YTou can even steam or roast them (after cleaning) to soften then take slices of salami and spread cream cheeses on the salami , roll in and stuff it into the pepper and bake. just till the cheese melsts on a low heat.

Answer #8

oops typo…I meant stuff salami and cream cheese then bake till it melts.

Answer #9

Roast, peel, and freeze for the taste of summer in winter?

Roast peppers are good in fritata, with sauteed onions and/or roast potatoes and a little fresh herbs and grated cheese of your preference.

Also, how about stuffed peppers? A large pan of these makes a couple of meals.

Answer #10

I love these peppers on hot dogs, hamburgers or what ever. They are so easy to make. You can double the recipe with no problem. I have never water bathed these pickles the jars have always sealed securely and I have used them a year or so later, Just be sure that the top has sealed and you have heard it POP. If the jar does not seal fully store in the fridge and use within a couple of months. As you can see from the picture, I often mix hot Jalapeno, Anaheim, Banana and any other peppers on hand - the result is medium hot pickled peppers. If you are at all concerned about food safety and would feel better water-bathing them, by all means do so - Just follow the instructions is any canning book
