Read this one instead about stacy

Is stacy reading into her mothers comment about needing a place to wear the clothes?

This is what is bothering stacy: stacy is upset because she feels that people should buy clothes for themselves and not because you necessarily have to wear them somewhere and she got upset because her mother said the opposite.

Story: yesterday stacy went to the 99 cent store. Stacy brought four beautiful blouses for her mom and four for her. Later that night stacy gave the blouses to her mom. Her mom loved them and could not wait to wear them.

Today stacy brought home one blouse and one sweater for stacy. And a blouse for either her sister or mom. Stacy gave the blouse to her mom. Her mom didn’t love it, even though it is gorgeous. On the other hand, when stacy showed her mom the blouse stacy brought for herself stacy’s mom loved that one.

Here is the dialog that took place: Mom: “stacy I wish you could have gotten the blouse you brought for yourself for me in my size.” Stacy: “i brought three necklaces as well. The price tag says $12.99 but I got the necklaces for 99 cent so I brought three different colors” Stacy’s mom :“you know you have to get a job to wear all these clothes” Stacy: “mom please clarify” Mom: “i just mean you have all those clothes. I mean if they were not 99 cent would you buy all of them” Stacy: “no I wouldn’t”

However, about five minutes later her mom got nasty when stacy asked her mom to clarify again and they had a terrible fight. Here are the things her mom said during the fight: -I know you only gave me that blouse today because it was too big for you -since december you have not given me as much money as you used to because you are no longer working -don’t buy me any more clothes -you don’t need all those clothes in the closet

Stacy responded: -mom you have had a chip on your shoulder ever since I picked you up from work -I am not going to buy you any more clothes -and I am definitely not meeting you for lunch tomorrow or taking you to work or picking you up from work.

Stacy’s mother is concerned because Stacy is not working and spending money on things she doesn’t need. She is a shop-aholic. What Stacy’s mother is trying to say is…Stacy needs to start putting her money where it needs to be and start looking for work before she spends money on things she does not need.

butterfly, gosh, I never saw it from that perspective but you’re quite right, it’s very possible to take it that way.

Answer #4

Stacy’s mother sounds ungrateful, rude and interfering. Stacy should not pay any attention to her. Just let her ramble on. Some elderly people just need to do that and it makes them happy. Go along with whatever, and do the opposite when she’s not looking. Why have such adversity? Isn’t stacy 60 and her mom about 80? Life’s too short for these disagreements.
