Is this enough to get my rapist in jail?

I have lots of texts saved on my phone from him admitting to it. I also saved a message on facebook of him admitting it. He was 18 at the time, I was 17. He can’t afford a lawyer. I also have threats from him saying he’s going to rape me again and kill me. Is there any chance at all that he WOULDN’T get jail time? I want him in jail sooo bad. And don’t tell me to report it now; I’m going to when I’m ready. This is very hard and stressful for me. I just want to be sure he’ll go to jail.

All that i think it is more than enough depending on your definition on a lot more than 30 is more than enough

Answer #2

I have about 6 or 7 messages of him saying stuff like “I’m glad I raped you, I’ll rape you again, etc…” then I have about 20 of him saying stuff like “if you ever tell then I’m going to kill you and chop you into pieces”, etc…

Answer #3

wow…thats horrible it all adds up to 30 you have enough good luck have a wonderful life even though that, that happened

Answer #4

i dont mean to be negative.. but i know first hand what you are dealing with .. and the sooner you go forward the better .. i waited 2 years and i was told after months of investigation that there was now not enough evidence .. and due to that the guy who raped me twice gets to walk free… beleive it or not even with proof and him admitting it .. most sexual assault cases done make it to court and if they do alot dont end with jail time… it makes me sick to my stomach that this is the case .. and i hope you the very best. the only way my case will be re opened is if a min. of 2 more girls come forward with complaints about him…. i prey that youy get the justice and peace you deserve ..

Answer #5

It sounds like enough to me, but I’m no lawyer. I understand you are not ready yet, but could you at least talk to a lawyer or a police officer about it so they could give you proper advice. The longer you wait the better chance he may get off and while he’s free he could try to hurt you again or hurt another girl. He deserves to go to jail.

Answer #6

Very courageous of you- I HOPE that everything turns out well for you, Liquid.

Answer #7

This is very hard and stressful for me.

For sure, but to get beyond this you should start a plan now…

Most cases period never make it to trial. This is a huge failure of our justice system, as are sentencing guidelines. Also, most states now protect rapists and molesters through segregation thereby protecting them from the general population of inmates that look down on these individuals quite grimly and would most likely not let them live to commit their crime again. The way they see it is this guy could go out and harm my wife, sister, mother, or child. For some reason they (the powers that be) want us to believe these people can be cured when anyone with half a brain knows better). Then they protect them on the outside by secretly moving them into our neighborhoods without our knowledge and don’t look or punish them for moving and not reporting to authorities. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Answer #10

What evidence did you have exactly? & why did they say it wasn’t enough? It’s been ALMOST a year since it happened to me, I still have all the text messages.

Answer #11

Thank you

Answer #12

i had 2 people witness it. both made statments with you police. its like unforgiven2 said .. the justice system fails us greatly. you need to take the first step .. like my therapist told me just dont get your hopes up, keep an open mind .. and no matter what the out come is just remember that you are an amazing and strong woman to be able to go forward in the first place .. even tho i know my case has most likely been closed with no justice to me, im happy i went to the police. i did my part to try to protect myself and other females out there from the monster who took my innocence. best of luck to you girl if you ever need to talk m here .. i would also like to share a poem with you that i know will help you … you may not feel this way now but in time you will. i was given this poem and i read it every day since i got it 5 years ago.

The Oak Tree by Johnny Ray Ryder Jr

A mighty wind blew night and day It stole the oak tree’s leaves away Then snapped its boughs and pulled its bark Until the oak was tired and stark

But still the oak tree held its ground While other trees fell all around The weary wind gave up and spoke. How can you still be standing Oak?

The oak tree said, I know that you Can break each branch of mine in two Carry every leaf away Shake my limbs, and make me sway

But I have roots stretched in the earth Growing stronger since my birth You’ll never touch them, for you see They are the deepest part of me

Until today, I wasn’t sure Of just how much I could endure But now I’ve found, with thanks to you I’m stronger than I ever knew

i believe in this poem so much i have the last 4 lines tattooed on my back with an oak tree going up my ribs and around my back .. your an oak tree to hunny .. you are strong enough to overcome your fears and learn and grow from this

texts and fb messages dont always work in court. someone could have just hacked his account. but you should have gone to the police right after it happened. carry mace/ a taser. if it happens again, dont shower and go straight to the police. his DNA would still be on/in you. even if he wore a condom. talk to your parents. talk to your school. get as many ppl you trust to feel your way. if everyone wants him in jail, it will happen.

Answer #14

I even have a lot of saved voice messages from him, from HIS number, HIS voice admitting to it. I’m afraid that if I tell & he doesn’t get put in jail for it then he’ll make my life hell :’/
