Would raising the age for Social Security be beneficial for the program?

Answer #1

Beneficial for the program, detrimental to the people who have to work longer to receive it.

Answer #2

Yes, we all pay for the incompetents of or government. I now have to get to work, I have thousands of people on welfare depending on me.

Answer #3

Depends. Some want to work longer and are forced to stop, those that don’t want to keep working can still call it quits and just collect less each year. Those probably have saved more over the years anyway, and that’s what makes it possible for them. The age raising goes in accordance with life expectancy. A lot of people are still healthy and capable of work as they get older.

Answer #4

I am working to call it quits at 45, I really hope I can make it. LOL

Answer #5

If it were up to me the age should be between 50-55. But if I’m not mistaken, the idea behind raising the age is because people are living longer.
