What are pros and cons of having a nursing career?

Depending what level of nursing your going for like a RN or LP… RN is more schooling and work, more resposiblities at work, but you get paid more. Cons.. if you have a prob with needles.. like I do. Being in a hospital (death around you). Your shifts would be most likely 4 days, 12 hour shifts, with 3 days off. So whatever way you wanna look at that, its good you have 3 days off.. but then 12 hour shifts. They are always looking for nurses, so you”ll always have a job, the medical field is always the best to get a job in, esp so your college degree doesn’t go to a waste.

My mom is an RN BSN and she gets paid really good&she used to work at a job where she had weekend off and only worked 8 hrs everyday. She loved it! Now she works 3 days a week (12 hr shifts) and is off for 4 days. It can be hard work, but that’s what you are getting paid to do. She went to school 4 years, then nursing school 2 years and got her bachelors degree. She wants to go back and get her master’s degree which is only 1 more year. I say it’s a great career:)
