How to show my Mom that I'm not bad?

okay, well my parents arent together, so I live with my mom. my dads an idiot, and I hate but love him all at the same time. but I wouldnt want to live with him… my mom thinks I sleep around and smoke pot all the time. but I really dont… I don’t know why, im not a bad kid, I’ve done bad things but im not bad myself. I don’t smoke, fall into peer pressure … I get in a lot of fights but she said she doesnt care about those, and I rarely drink and do pills. when she was 12 she was dating juniors in college and shes mad bc I like an 18 year old.. I don’t know what to do to get her to realize to just back off bc I really dunno what to do anymore… she called me dramatic bc I said I dont care anymore, I just don’t get it, she was sooo bad when she was 13, and she acts like im the worst kid at 15 when I really don’t do anything bad. anyone got anything to help me out here ??

You have to understand that parents can be really protective at times, and your mom is probably scared of what you are/were doing because she did the things you were/are doing and doesn’t want you to make the same mistakes she did at her age! I would just suggest to you to sit her down and tell her that you appreciates her concerns, and try and make her realize that you are not doing the things that she thinks you are doing. If that doesn’t work, then you could maybe write a letter telling her how you feel about the lack of trust she has in you! Maybe, you could also spend some time with her and have some “mother and daughter” bonding.

Try and keep out of fights as much as possible; just WALK AWAY!

Best regards,

To you other kids across the land: no need to argue, parents just don’t understand.

Answer #5

Make lifestyle changes and show her you can be responsible and her attitude/views towards you will change.
