I have 3 carnations that I really want to keep. I have pressed flowers before. I was looking for other ideas, I have sprayed a rose with clear laquer before as well, but it turned the rose into nearly glass and it shattered. I am looking for 3 different ways to do this so each carnation is preserved differently. Anyone have any creative ideas?
Well, how about preserving them into candles? This site does them for a fee, but I'm sure any creative person can pull it off without their help: http://funadvice.com/r/152t9cui3p9
I used the spray bottle one. but tie it the stem to a string and hang it down and apply quite a few layers of it. of course it will dry out but it will keep its shape and not wilt
That really works? Sweet! Thanks. Ive never used hairspray because I didnt think it was strong enough. Is there a certian kind? Like aresol cans or sprits bottles or extra hold?
hair spray. if you hold your carnation upside down and spray with hairspray and add a few coats. i have a carnation from a few years back from doing that.
That is such a cool idea! I have never heard of such a thing!!! ^_^ Thanks
Silica gel is a quick and easy way to dry out and preserve plants.
