I am of the opinion that anyone who is sufficiently mature to understand the benefits and risks of taking prescribed medications, should be the final arbiter on whether or not they agree to take those medications.
However, choosing to curtail a course of medication, part way through, should also be done with a full understanding of all the "pros and cons" of doing so.
I strongly recommend that you discuss your current feelings with the Doctor who prescribed your medications, and further suggest that if you remain unsatisfied with his advice, you should seek a suitably qualified "second opinion".
It is not really satisfactory if you harbour any reservations about your medical care, and I think this should be resolved to YOUR satisfaction as soon as possible.
Obviously they are giving you problems. I wouldn't take them either.
It blows my mind how many people are taking things because the doctor prescribed them. Meds that mess with the wiring of a persons brain is a serious thing, with lots of side effects.
The television ads that "promote" them pisses me off too. It's a money game.
Unless a person has a VERY serious chemical imbalance that " REQUIRES" medication to control, I strongly believe there are other answers for treatment of people who are depressed or troubled.
You are young, talk to your Doc ASAP and be FIRM with the fact that you don't want to take them anymore. Also, get advice from a pharmacists about how to get off of them before they screw you up.
