Im catholic, but i didnt know that playing the lottery is a sin, because is not a money that a person has earned for his hard work, but what about if somebody is trying to get a job, but nobody hires him and he plays the lottery and wins the jackpot what would be the message if this happen. What do you think?
Well, I personally don't believe that it's a sin to play the lotto, rather what you do with the money if you win is where you could be in danger from sinning.
Greed is a major sin. If you keep all the money and spend it on yourself after being blessed with the winnings, then you are doing wrong.
To help people who need it I believe would be a blessing to you. You of course could keep and spend some for yourself, but how many material things do you need? Give to those in need and I believe the Lord will bless yo 10 fold for what you've done. The Bible says so.
good luck
