Why do people find it okay to go behind someones back to talk to an ex?

example:

My gf and I have been dating for about 5 months,and at this point long distance. I do trust issues because my relationship before here i was cheated on the entire time,and also lost my son during the time the cheating was taking place. Problems with my past also contributed to me having trust issues. Im a lesbian,and very uncomfortable around and just the thought me. My gf’s ex(whos a boy from when she was bi last year) always seems to wanna hang out with her. he seems to be some kinda badass or w/e,and recently got outta jail. He asked to hang out with her but said that “he wanted her to when she had to house alone” and that irritated me. I explained to her alot of reasons why im uncomfortable with this one ex inparticular and she said nothing was going to happen instead of just not seeing him. A week or two ago we discussed this and she promised not to see him,but i saw on her facebook she was already makin plans to meet up with him. I really dont know what to think or do. At this point ive been ignoring her calls and txt for almost 24 hours.

In every relationship you need to set boundaries in the beginning that both partners agree to and can follow. Some people can talk to ex’s as friends and trust their partners and never do anything to betray that trust. Some couples agree that its best that you dont spend time with ex’s for personal reasons. Whatever the case you need to be on the same page because i your not the relationship is not going to work.
