How can I overcome my baby jealousy?

My fiance and I have been trynig to concieve for a few months now, and we have not had any luck yet. Yesterday his younger brother and his brothers fiance called to inform us that they are unexpectingly pregnant. It wasn’t planned and I know there is nothing that can be done because this new life is coming. But I just am so jealous because we have been trying and they didn’t plan this. Help! I just need to be able to be happy for them. I know deep down I am, but at the same, now if I end up pregnant, the inlaws aren’t going to feel the same becuase they already have a grand baby on the way… :\

First of all, quit trying to get pregnant… that’ll increase stress hormones and will reduce your likelihood of actually conceiving. My fiance and I want to have a baby but we’re not “trying”… we’re just having unprotected sex and leaving the rest up to God. It’s usually when you least expect it that it happens. I didn’t expect to meet my future husband on Craigslist, but I did. I wasn’t even looking when I found him… or rather, he found me. Point is, quit stressing yourself out so much and let things happen naturally. The baby will come in His time… never yours.

Well i am pregnant now 12 weeks. Me and my fiance took about 4 monts to conceive. Just be patient. If its ur first it may be a little more difficult. It geta easier after the first. Took 8 months to conceive my first. You will get ur baby. If all is well with his sperm and ur girl parts. Its only a matter of time. For now enjoy ur free time. U will miss it

I understand you’re jelouse. My step mum wanted a baby but couldmn’t and then her sister who didn’t even want kids did. She listened to her sister complain and even debate another ab*rtion. She cried all the time untill she finally did get pregnaut from the help of doctors. But have you thought maybe there might be somthing wrong? I know that certain birth controls have made it harder for women to get pregnaut even after there off of them. Also gentics from both sides of the family contribute. I would go to your doctor and have everything looked at to make sure it’s all in order. As for the whole not being able to get over the jelouse why don’t you try fostering for a bit? or sponsoring a child from another country? With those you still have the feeling of a parent and with sponsoring you get pictures of the kids and letters. Of course it’s not the same but maybe it will help a little untill you have your own baby.

I met my fiance on Myspace…. haha I know all about the unexpected :) Thank you :D

Answer #5

Congrats :D It must be exciting. 8 months? Oh gosh lol. That just seems like such a long time when you want something doesnt it? And everything physically is fine. :) I dont think I know how to have “free time” I dont really do much except at home crafts. Child care has always been a thing of mine. I have a younger brother as well as 3 nephews from a sister whom is about 16 years older than myself. I was a full time nanny by time I was 16, while balancing highschool I loved it. Never been a party type. :) So its a love and a passion I think. But thank you :D I feel like I have something to look forward to

Answer #6

It is such a crappy feeling. That must have been harder though. My sister in law wants to keep the baby, but she is a year and a half younger than me. Its silly but for once I actually see her as a child instead of an adult.

Answer #7

You do and i wish the best for you. Dont worry you will get ur baby in due time.

Answer #8

I think until your time has come maybe you should help out your sister in law. She will need A TON of help I have been running around for my baby as well. Who knows maybe with all the help you will become God Mom which is a HUGE honor. When your time comes the family and her will be behind you every step of the way. I wish you tremendous amounts of luck. And congrats on being an auntie :-D.
