I have two rabbits, boy and girl both neutered. The boy does not go to eat but when the girl does he goes and steals the food and eats it. It's not that bad as the female rabbit's health isn't suffering but the male is definitely fatter. Just wondering thanksx

Our two rabbits Shudic-Mudic and Ben had to be separated. When they were younger they were so loving, but when they got to be a few months old, Shudic-Mudic almost took Ben's life! Ben was the smaller, more sensitive rabbit and I guess it Shudic-Mudic took advantage of all of that by stealing his food, and chasing him around the cage all day.
We though Ben would have died with all the fighting, so we got a really big cage, and built a barrier between thus separating them.
Shudic-Mudic went to live with my daughter and her mom, while Ben was given the run of the fenced in backyard.
At some point, Ben escaped through the fence and went to live at my neighbors house (which was fine), and Shudic-Mudic ended up being given away to another neighbor because of continuing bad behavior.
Attached is a photo of Ben lounging in the backyard under some bushes in happier days, and Shudic-Mudic being help by my daughter!
Wow thanks so much for your reply! I was sure that it wasn't just my rabbits with this problem! It seems your rabbit, Shudic-Mudic was very boysterous as well as stealing food. My rabbits, Charlie (boy) and Fluffy (girl) used to fight as the other tried to mate but it stopped when we got them both neutered but then the food stealing started. I might look into getting separating them and seeing how that helps. When sometimes we have to cut their fur (fluffy is an angora) then the other one is always looking for her. They run around my house and follow and lie together so I'm not sure if separating is a good idea, but I have introduced more food bowls and water bottles to share which has helped.
