What if my parents don't like my boyfriend?

My parents don’t like my current boyfriend. They both think that I can do so much better than him. Sometimes I think they’re right, but I don’t know what to do. Help anyone

Dear swtandplyfulgirl ,

you should keep in mind this siple fact that if he where to marry you it would be you he was marrying and not your family and if you marry him it is him you are marrying and not his family…you are with him right now because of him and not his family just as he is with you because of you and not your family…people do not marry eachother or love eachother because of their family it is the person they are with that really matters to them and with him it should be that way too.

If you are not sure though why you are with him or that your parents are concerned with good reason then I would personaly re-evaluatet he situation and then make sure if it is what you really want and that he matches up whatever life long goals that you have…and what not.

Love some only because you love then not because some one else does..my parents have never liked any one I have ever gone out with and then you know what I found one they liked and he was a compleate as*s hole Lol I thought it was really funny the other guys where fine and they didnt aprove the one they aprove of was awful.

Life is just that way though..you shouldn’t try to please your parents in all that you do and remember you will have to live your life one day with out them and who you choose to share it with is up to you…they are not the ones who are going to have to live that life and walk down that path you and only you will have to do it.

they need to understand this and maybe you could tell them..be careful what you get your self into though if you dought something then don’t do it.

make sure the choice is yours and not their’s in this matter…and as for him not being good enough only you can decide that…The bible says that while we where yet snners Christ died for us…we where still good enough for God to die for us..while we where sinners and enimys of God. ( Christian stand point) and basicly if we are good enough for God and he loves us so much he sent his SON to die for us onthe cross then I do not see how or why this man couldn’t be good enough for you if you thought he was.

None of us are worthy of what God did and yet he did it any way…out of love.

If you love him Love him and let no one stop you from that there is nothing wrong with being in Love.

God Bless you and good Luck.

They obvisouly have a reason, parents don’t just hate your boyfriend for no reason. Obvisouly they know something about him that you don’t know they know. Parents just know things, thats how they are. Theres nothing you can do to change their mind, their mind is clearly made up about him.

  1. Don’t break up with someone just because someone says so.. only do it because you want to.
  2. I dated this guy who my dad hated and it turned out in the end he was a trouble maker and ended up going to juvie, so parents can be right about these things sometimes.
  3. If you have doubts about your boyfriend he probably isn’t the right guy for you.

not every boy you bring home your parents are going to like but aslong as you like him dont dump him I know when they say you can do so much better and they slag he off makes you think why iam I with him and their ovisly a reason if he really like you he’ll stop strating and making trouble if you say you dont like him know more why I your with hm ..?? cause you ovisly still like him dont dump a boy over what people think and say to you about him cause then your just being doing whats best for them not yourself.
