How do I get my hair to stop falling out?

My scalp starting showing!! This isn’t normal!! Mom keeps blaming me that: 1- I take a shower with hot water (I stopped this) 2- I don’t eat fruits and vegies, (I do but I don’t eat tomatoes) 3- I roll my hair up after taking a shower and stays wet til’ the second day! (still doing this) 4- I comb it with a hair brush, not a comb! 5- I sleep with my hair rolled up 6- when I roll it up I roll it strongly so that it doesn’t move 7- I take a shower everyday 8- I don’t dry my hair with the towel (I let it dry by itself) my parents tell me it’s wrong…

My school’s uniform is dark blue, and my hair is blonde so it’s always shinig all over my uniform!! Ugh!! Could you tell me if I’m doing anything wrong? (hehe) Please help! My parents won’t take me to the doctor unless I do what they want me to do! And I don’t want to do what they want me to do!!! Any good shampoos? Any good creams? Any good sprays? I’ll earn my own money and buy whatever that fixes my hair and makes it grow back to how it was!! Help me please! :’(

I am a licensed Cosmetologist. The things that your parents are saying is ridiculous. Where did they get their information? Actually, it’s better to use a brush than it is a comb because, if you have any tangles, a comb will pull out your hair. (a conditioner will take care of the tangles, if any) Also, it is much better to let your hair dry naturally than to use a towel. Not eating vegetables is not going to make you bald and using hot water … need I go on?

You may lose some hair from rolling it too tight but it would have to be those wire kind and rolled so tight that it hurts, but you’re not going to be balding as you described.

You could have a medical problem such as a Hypothroid. If your thyroid levels are off, you can have hair loss and it can come out by the handful. You DO need to see a doctor or, at least, a good hairdresser who would probably suggest tat you see a doctor.

Best of luck to you. Write if you have any other questions or you can go to clairol.com.

nothing wrong with brushing wet hair… mine would look like a giant ball of poof if I didnt…

Answer #3

“nirvanafan” but if I don’t brush my hair when it’s wet, it will look like I have a bird’s nest on my head!! and it will be hard for me to brush it! what’s so bad bout it?

Answer #4

Brushing your hair hard or rolling it up tightly will encourage hair loss.. also overwashing and styling can make it fall out too.

You hair goes through stages and may seem to fall out a lot at times, especially when your a teenager it tends to thin out a but.

But if your scalp is starting to show then I think you should see a doctor and see what they reccomend.

Answer #5

there is someone called an EXPERT!

seek that guy out and he will solve your problem traditional methods might not work and you shouldnt wait until your bald to go to one

Answer #6

If your scalp is showing then things are more serious than your parents think. The things they say may be causing it could cause a bit of a problem, perhaps, but nothing like that. I have long blonde hair and I use a brush, I let it dry naturally, I do lots of the things you do and they couldn’t cause this kind of problem

I’d stop sleeping with it rolled up, personally - that’s the only thing that would worry me about what you do.

Shampoos and creams won’t make any difference. You really should see a doctor. If your parents are truly being this stubborn (which seems unfair if you’ve been honest about the situation) then you may have to just give in and do everything they ask until they take you there, because I really think you should see a doctor. It might be vitamin deficiency or some other kind of imbalance which could be cured quite quickly, but you won’t know until a doctor has checked you out.

Very best of luck.

Answer #7

You have got to see the doctor. hair falling out to the point where your scalp show is not normal. foreals get help

Answer #8

I have experienced that too. That isn’t normal. The only thing i did, I have taken Vitamins for hair loss from Reloxe.com in order to stop my hair falling and yes its really effective. It can also grow my hair faster.

Answer #9

stress can be a cause, but in my personal experience I’ve found that doctors know diddly-squat about hair loss.

YES stress can be a factor.

It can also be any number of other things, highly likely to be overlooked by your doctor.

I was losing my hair for a while and figured out (on my own, grrr) that it was caused by Stress

You could also possibly be deficient in some key vitamin, have you had blood work done?

And finally it could be hereditary. Any female in your family have this issue?

Answer #10

That really isn’t a normal. You should consult to a doctor or take vitamins for hair loss like Reloxe.
