My dog is overprotective

Depending on how many dogs you have and how long its been going on and how much you love each one you may have to get rid of the aggressor

Get him neutered.

This will calm him down, make him less possessive AND make sure none of your dogs get pregnant by accident.

How old is your little guy and how long has this been going on?? You may have a case of resource guarding. This is when anything that the dog sees as “valuable” food, bones, toys or in this case you, makes him want to fight to protect what he sees as his rights to have what he considers his. Try the Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan. He has helped me with my lab and husky with being overly protective. I would pull my dogs away by the collar causing them more intense energy and I would shush/pet them to calm them down. That is actually rewarding them for the behavior they are displaying. Getting their attention before they get in the mode, don’t give affection in stressful moment and you yourself must be calm. The first thing to do to increase out come- rid your dog of it’s energy. Take him for a great run so he can focus with calm enegy and not hyper energy. Huge difference, Your dog will love you for it:) Goodluck!!
