My big chance

Right so, since I had told my mum I was pregnant her and the rest of the family have fell out with me and apart from my sister none of them have ever seen my son or even called to check up on me or him, anyway, my dad is coming round to my flat at the weekend and hopefully my mum will be coming along to if he can persuade her, I was planning on cooking a roast dinner, chicken, vegtables and the rest you know :) I know a meal is not going to even cut me half of her hate with me but I thought it would be a nice guesture for when they came round, do you think they might be offended if I did make them a meal, im not trying to buy them off with it but may it come accross that way? :( :(

Answer #1

It is a very nice gesture on your part to make the peace / reach out - just tell her ‘I made a mistake, we all make mistakes - I’m hoping we can be close again and you share in your grandsons life, he needs you’…I wish you the very best !!

Answer #2

I agree with everyone else. Making dinner will show they you are mature. They see you as their little girl in a way bc they are your parents. And I am sure they will melt when they meet your son. It may take time but I’m sure you will be a part of the family again.

Answer #3

No I dont think so at all. It shows your willing to talk to her about it all, and show her that you grown up enough to live with what you do.

I can see that some people may think you are trying to buy affections but in reality nobody can judge you until they properly know your situation.

Answer #4

well they you mum and dad so do what you have to do tell you mom that you miss her and you son might want to see his grandmother…
