What to do when you're moving away but like your boyfriend?

So a little background, my boyfriend and I both play softball/baseball and we have both accepted university scholarships to two differnt areas. He is going up north in Canada and I’m moving to the deep south. We have only been together for a month but have been friends for a good two years. We get along great because we both play the same sport, we have similar values and we just find fun in everything were doing.

The problem is I’m moving August 6th and we don’t know if we should stay together or not. He doesn’t want us to throw what we have away because we’re just happier together but I don’t know if I’d be willing to go for a long distance relationship. I will only be home at Christmas but then I’m gone for my summers to.

I’d appreciate any advice on this, thanks :)

Long distance relationships are hard to keep, which is something that he’ll catch on to if you guys decide to stay together. Sounds like you are more realistic about it than he is … So tell him how you feel and if he doesn’t get it, try it out for a while and we’ll see how things go. Or.. You can just straight out tell him that you want to see other people and that’ll be that. No easy way out. Unfortunately.

Don’t ever stay back for a guy, you need to follow your dreams and make your own goals :) You two are both very young and I think you guys should either just stay friends so you both don’t have to worry about each other and make the most out of your college experience, or try the long distance thing and see how it goes. Long distance relationships take extra work and are very difficult, but that doesn’t mean they never work out. It all depends on how willing you both are.
