Why does my mother always scold me for putting my hands in my pockets?

Now I am 22. I wear tight pants or jeans to college. But my mother dont allow me to put my hands inside its pockets and walk or put my wallets inside pockets. When I asked why, she is replying that girls should not do this and it makes my pants look rubbish. But I cant understand what she mean? Should I obey her?

Answer #1

You’re 22 you can do whatever you want. But remember , mother knows best. XD

Answer #2

I don’t even understand what she means, you’re an adult, yes, mother’s won’t like your style all the time but you are grown, if you feel like dressing that way every day for school, so be it, she can’t change how you dress.

Politely tell your mom that she can’t tell you how to dress anymore ‘cause you’re not 12 anymore.

Answer #3

Not sure what she means either. You could ask her to elaborate, or try to see her point of view by putting your hands in your pocket & seeing how it looks in the mirror. By the way, I’m surprised you can actually fit your hands inside your skinny jean pockets haha. I feel like that would be uncomfortable. Anyway, if you think it makes you look “rubbish” like your mom says, then stop doing it. If you don’t agree with her, then don’t worry about it lol. Do whatever you want.

Lol i cant understand either maybe she doesn’t like tight pants…My mom doesn’t like my piercings but i tell her nicely i’m not 14 mother i am an adult and its my choice…But yea tell your mom in a nice way you like dressing like that.

Thanks for the answer. As you told me I stood in front of mirror in that way. I could see wrinkles on my pants crotch region. She is telling that wrinkles are rubbish to be seen by others. Then one thing I shall tell you that I dont wear skinny jeans, but just simply it is tight. Above all my jeans pockets are horizontal and I put 3-4 fingers only inside pockets. But my tight pants are having vertical/slanting pockets and I put my hands completely inside its pockets and this actually makes my mother more angry, if she see me. I feel cool in that style. Is that wrinkles a problem on girls pants?

Answer #6

Alright, uh… I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you’re actually being serious right now. Sounds like your pants aren’t the right size. Also, if it makes your mother angry, then simply don’t do it around her?

Answer #7

She does that so ur pants will last longer b cuz u wear them tight, if ur pants were looser u cud put ur hands/wallet in the pockets without them ripping so soon. Hope that makes since

Answer #8

Well, I know that when you put your hands in your pockets it can be a sign of aggression. But the wallets- I don’t know.

Weird, a few months ago it was your teacher, not your mother. You wrote this:

I am 21 year old female doing my postgraduation. I goes to college wearing very tight jeans or tight pants. My problem is whenever I am standing I try to push my both hands inside pants front pocket atleast three fingers (if too tight). But my teacher warned me from doing this and told putting hands inside pants pocket is boyish habbit and for girls it is very bad. I am confused, but I cant avoid this. My friends are telling that wrinkles on my pants is due to my habbit. What to do? Please help
