Yes, Happy Holidays, and all that. Christmas, in our town in Australia, has all but faded away – like many other days. There were no presents, this year, and no effective Christmas dinner. To show you how things have “developed”, I can remember a time – many, many years ago – wnen the town was lit up everywhere with a big christmas Tree in the centre. Now, all that’s left is a few ancient, faded, “Merry Christmas” signs and a token “Santa”, or two. And, for the first time ever, Christmas Day wasn’t “quiet”. Motor Mowers and brush cutters were everywhere until about 2 p.m. when it was too hot to do anymore outside! So, that was our Christmas.
