Make him love me again?

I dated Andy for 9 months and he was my first love and its been four months since we broke up. I’ve tried EVERYTHING to get over him- go out a lot, never call him, all those silly things that haven’t worked. He called me on my 17th birthday to tell me happy birthday (after we broke up and about a month ago). He confessed that he missed me and that he wanted to try again and if that try didn’t work then we would keep trying until it did work because he wanted to be with me so badly. Then, bein heartbroken, I agreed that I missed him too but there would be a lot of work involved. I couldn’t believe my ears- I couldn’t stop smiling and I wanted so badly to tell him I loved him and kiss him like we used to. He told me at the end of our conversation that he would call me tomorrow to talk more about it. and the next day at school I felt like I was walking on air… he never called. I waited for weeks sleeping right next to the phone at night hoping it would ring. Now more than ever I want him back- sometimes at school I could swear that he is looking at me but we never talk. I want to call him and tell him how I feel but I know that’d be too straightforward- so can anyone else tell me how I could possibly approach the subject of getting back together without freaking him out. thanks… Trish
