I'm leaving my boyfriend because of ocd. Is this bad of me?

I had another post about my boyfriend having ocd and feeling like I’m contaminated, and I’m way to hurt by this and I just can’t take it anymore. We’ve been away from each other a while because of this anyways, just talking on the phone and texting is all we’ve been doing, we haven’t physically seen each other in about 2 weeks. And I just can’t go on like this. But he says it’s me giving up on him, I guess u can look at it that way, but I’m just way to hurt by all of this. Who wants to be with someone who can’t even hold you when youre sad or down because ur contaminated, can’t even hug u or kiss you like a normal couple, I just can’t do it ):

Answer #1

I don’t think it’s a bad thing. He needs to take care of his OCD before he can fully care for someone else. I don’t think he’s ready for a relationship right now.

Answer #2

It isn’t his fault he has OCD but it also isn’t your fault. There is no reason for you to give up your own happiness to put up with his psychological issues. One thing I’d ask is if you can be supportive of him as a platonic friend rather than in a romantic relationship? It is rather hard to get romantic with someone unwilling to exchange body fluids.

Answer #3

We’ve been together for a long time we have a kid together, so everything is very difficult and hurtful for the both of us

Answer #4

Oh well in that case he needs to go see a therapist ASAP!

Answer #5

^I agree.

Answer #6

When you have a child together you are usually connected in some way for the rest of your lives. Is it possible for you to have a constructive relationship to support your child that isn’t romantic?
