It's a kitten, the young offspring of a species, like a human child. You can't get it to "shut up". The basic needs for a young creature is food, water, interaction with other animals and toys. Make sure it has enough food and water, play with it and when you can't be there (although if you have a young animal in your care you shouldn't leave it for long) allow it to have some toys to chew or play with, leave the radio/TV on to entertain it. Of course it will continue to meow though if you keep looking after it the kitty will purr instead :3
As always a kitten would want attention, something to do. Caring for a little bundle of fluff, you need to watch over it, feed it, play with it. So it wouldn't have to carry on, begging for your attention. My friend has a sphinx and that kitten is always hyper, cuz she finds things to do. Gotta love kittens, which is the whole reason why you have them, if you can't take care of them, why get 'em?
Um, pay attention to it..? -.- If you JUST got it, it's going to cry/meow because it' away from it's little kitten family. It'll eventually stop if you pay attention to it. & Learn to love it because cats > people. Nuff said.
its just like a baby...show the kitten love and play with it. dont scare it r ignore it.
feed it if it doesnt stop keep petting it, he probaly wants attention.
