Orion, how can you possibly take what I said as an attack on Christians? It’s obviously an attack on faith, not Christians. Since you’re having problems what it means to attack another group, let me demonstrate by example:

  1. If I were to say “Christians are going to hell when they die”, that would be an attack on Christians.

  2. If I were to say “the fool says in his heart “I am a Christian’”, that would be an attack on Christians.

  3. If I were to say “Don’t cast your reasoning before Christian swine”, that would be an attack on Christians.

I hope that helps you to understand the difference between attacking people and attacking ideologies. I regularly attack Christianity, as well as other belief systems, as well as the very concept of faith. But your claim was that I also attacked Christians. When pushed to prove it, you provide a quote of me attacking the idea of faith rather than attacking Christians.

You made a libelous statement against me in addition to threatening me. You are the one doing the attacking.

If you’re real concern was to warn other of impending danger, you would approach them with love and compassion from THEIR perspective, not with words of vengeance from yours.

well,I know what christians would say ‘scientists are out to challenge your faith! god has no beginning and no end! keep faith, and those answers will be shown to you in the kingdom of heaven’ sounds like their answer to all those questions is a higher form of magic be careful, they might attack you violently if you speak out against them, as history has shown honestly, the bible is a masterpiece of literature however, humans have logic and simple logic is that the bible should be interpreted figurativly, not literally look at the lord of the rings its about world war 2, which really happened, however to make it more interesting, JR Tolkien made it into a fantasy novel and used symbols and I think overtime, the bible was being interpretted on the fantasy part, not the realistic part thats what I think about the bible

Answer #3

Many of the stories are true, but there are ‘parables’, which are stories that help to explain truths so we understand better His meaning. Parables are a good thing.

God has always been and will forevermore always be. He was never created nor will He ever die. The reason why God could make the heavens and the earth and all that in them is, is because He is God. I know it may sound simplistic, but it is just that, simple.

Our Creator formed man from the dust of the earth, shaping him with His hands, then He breathed the breath of life into our lungs, which made us a living soul. When people die, they go back to dust and the spirit that God breathed into our lungs goes back to Him. Then we cease to exist until Jesus Christ’s second coming when every person who has ever lived will be raised from the dead.

Eternity has always been. It doesn’t have a beginning nor a ending, kinda like God. God and eternity go hand in hand.

You have asked some very wise and searching questions, which I, myself have asked. The way I discovered the answers is thru the reading of the Bible and prayer. Jesus told us that He would send the Holy Spirit to teach us, so if you pray for the Holy Spirit, Jesus will send Him to help you understand.

God bless you truly! If you have anymore questions please send me FunMail.

Ok toadly, I’ll give you this one example (very mild compared to some of your others) which I found right here in this post.

This quote from toadly is from March 23. He said a couple of things that I want to comment on: (((

“‘You just have to believe’

…the mantra of charlatans and used car salesmen across the globe. ‘believe or else’ is the type of argument the school yard bully uses. If there are any gods, surely they are not so infantile and petty as this.”

)))

toadly, Satan also believes in God, but he will not be in heaven, so saying “you just have to believe” is a farce. Faith is key. You see anybody can believe, but it takes faith to follow and love Him. Without faith you have nothing.

Are you a parent toadly? If so, you have probably told your child to not walk in the road because they might get hit, right? Well, it’s the same things as a Christian who says “believe or else” you’ll be lost. It is not a threat . . . it’s said out of love for them.

You tell your child to stay out of the road for his own protection and because you love him. Same with Christians. We love our fellow man and as such we desire to tell them about God to save them from the Lake of Fire, so they’ll be in heaven with us.

toadly, I pray that your attitude toward us and the Lord will change soon, because it really hurts to see anybody say such negative things about God…

Answer #5

“your looks and personality came from your parents because they ‘united.’ “

Sounds fine to me, but I guess I’m not as selfish as some religious people.

Science does a much better job of explaining everything, and makes our lives a lot better then “God” ever did. I don’t use it to explain the world to me because I’m a “non-believer”, I’m really interested in it, and love it.

A naturel Universe is a far more beautiful and wonderful thing, then one “created” but of course God is just an explanation.. But I don’t think it’s a good explanation at all, God itself cannot be an explanation of that type.

So when it comes down to it, I’m much more rather believe in science, then the fairtales created by men who had no scientific abilities, so entertained themselves with made up stories, to explain what was unknown.

Answer #6

…I’ll take that as an admission on your part that you know what you said is BS.

Answer #7

toadly said: “it isn’t a matter of faith for me like it is for you”

ok, then if that is so, why do you seem to hang out in Christian posts and make comments that verbally attack Christians and their beliefs? If it isn’t a matter of faith to you, then why come here and cause trouble?

Answer #8

“You just have to believe”

…the mantra of charlatans and used car salesmen across the globe. “believe or else” is the type of argument the school yard bully uses. If there are any gods, surely they are not so infantile and petty as this.

You are free to investigate to your heart’s content, without concern for where the evidence leads you.

Answer #9

Oh come on! All on here know this is true…I’m done. If you want to continue this take it to FunMail. I will not go off topic again, especially for this!

Answer #10

Kudos to Magichalo1. She sums it up nicely (and I’m an atheist.) Science and religion cover different aspects of the human experience, I do not think that they are mutually exclusive. Take care.

Answer #11

Always has. Science is set up with the theory of proving or disproving something. Science is a theory and then you set about proving your theory.

God is above proof or science. God is faith.

Answer #12

Orion, it’s a violation of the rules to threaten other members. If you want to live in a fantasy world, your welcome to do so, but you can’t verbalize threats to others.

Answer #13

It won’t be long now until when our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ will come to take His children, those who believe, follow and love Him…to heaven so we shall be with Him forever thru out all eternity.

If you would rather believe in a man-made theory science made up so you wouldn’t have to believe in God so be it. But only way to life eternal is thru Jesus Christ the Son of God.

If you choose to follow our Father, Lord Jesus and His laws then you will have life ever lasing, but if not, then you’ will only have this life here on earth and upon God’s second coming you will be destroyed by the brightness of His purity.

This is truth, this is a fact.

Answer #14

* “Our faith (Christianity) is what makes us Christians so, when you attack what we believe you are attacking us.”

That’s flawed logic. Attacking a position is not the same as attacking the people who hold that position. You make me out to be some kind of Christian hater, but I’m not. I have close friends and family who are Christians, so I take offense when you falsely accuse me of attacking Christians as a group. If you actually read my posts here at funadvice, you’ll notice that I often chime in to scold others for doing the exact thing you accuse me of.

An apology would come off as substantially more sincere than “god loves you and so do I”.

Answer #15

I didn’t say it was BS to tell people about any gods(…although I do believe that it is). I said that I took your threat followed by ‘that’s not a threat” as an admission that you know the threat is BS.

Unlike you, I have no interest in the existence or nonexistence of any gods. If I someday learn they exist, well fine then. I don’t ‘want’ to disbelieve in gods, I just do. The idea is simply absurdly ridiculous to me and so obviously based on nothing but ancient myths that I’m amazed people still buy into it. It isn’t a matter of faith for me like it is for you.

Answer #16

Everybody who has ever lived on earth will make a choice either for or against God. Just remember you’ll have to live with your decision for a very long time.

And no toadly, it is not “BS” to tell others about God, to believe and worship the Creator. Just because you don’t want to believe in God does not mean He will just go away. Jesus is here to stay from forever to forever lasting. AMEN!

Answer #17

magichalo1 is right. god is faith, but we study science because nonbelievers need something to explaing to them how our world works. for me science is a complicated way to prove that we were born this way and no other. of course I believe that god created everything. just think what sounds better, your looks and personality came from your parents because they “united.” or would you rather believe that god sculpted you with his bare hands, paying attention to every detail and blessing you with greatness before sending you to earth to be nurtured until you meet 100 years. later. that’s how I like to look at it.

Answer #18

toadly said: “I regularly attack Christianity”

Our faith (Christianity) is what makes us Christians so, when you attack what we believe you are attacking us.

Your points #1, 2, 3; if they were true statements than they would not be attacks at all, but loving warnings to help those to open their eyes, understand, and hopefully choose what is right.

toadly, God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to save you and other non-believers from eternal distruction.

God did this because He loves you…and so do I.

Answer #19

toadaly, LOL!

Since I said: “If you choose to follow our Father, Lord Jesus and His laws then you will have life ever lasing, but if not, then you’ will only have this life here on earth and upon God’s second coming you will be destroyed by the brightness of His purity.”

You actually think I “threaten other members” LOL!!! oh come on…you KNOW better than that…

Answer #20

God has not chosen to allow us to understand his origin. Some things we will just have to take by faith.

Science nor nothing else can take anything away from God. He always has the last say.

He releases bits and pieces of the puzzle when he choses to, to allow sincere seekers to know the truth. He does not have to prove anything to anyone.

We need him, not the other way around, even though he loves us with a love that is unending. He is sufficient unto himself. He created us so that the love that he has could be recriprocated.

Answer #21

* “Oh come on! All on here know this is true…”

In other words, you know you can’t back it up.

Answer #22

Orion, you claim I verbally attack Christians. Why not back up that libelous claim?

Answer #23

maquichalo1 is comepletely right…
