IS DOG BREEDING CRUEL?

I KNOW IT DOES NOT SOUND BAD BUT USALLY IT SEEMS LIKE A BAD THING.I THINK IT WOULD B COOL TO MAKE A NEW BREED LIKE MY MIXED DOG SEEMS LIKE HE COULD B A OOL BREED

Answer #1

No…it’s not cruel per se…As long as it’s the “responsible” type people doing the breeding…Reasons such as “I just want her to have one litter, she will be a better dog” (FALSE)…”I just want the kids to experiece birth one time” (Get a movie, or subscribe to cable)…”It pays good” (FALSE…it’s break even at best)…Those are not reasons for bringing puppies into this world. It takes hundreds of generations to “create a breed”…All these designer breeds you see today are for money only…every litter has to be cross bred, until the genetics that go into creating a purebred have been established. What happens to the pups that don’t follow the Poodle side of the family (Labradoodles, Goldendoodles, etc)…

Breeding must be left to those who want to improve the breed of their choice…We see a dozen litters on this site every week…most just mutts…rarely someone who actually understands the birthing process, let alone what to do in an emergency…or actually has money for a Vet…THAT is cruel.

he wouldnt be a breed… it takes many dogs of the same breed, whatever dog you breed him with will be another breed and the puppies wont be the same breed as either parent…

Answer #3

well its not cruel if they just own two of the same dog to breed, but if they have many breeds of dogs, and they force it upon the dogs do breed with a certain dog, I think thats cruel, it all dpeneds on how you look at it reallly

Answer #4

why would you want to breed your dog when there’s so many dogs being killed in the shelters everyday because no one wants them?

Answer #5

I dont think its cruel… I mean they have to mate somehow. as long as the breeding is done responsibly, I dont see the issue.
