Is anyone in Who's Who Among American High School Students?

I just want to walk to someone in there to see if they have this year’s bk

Answer #1

I’m in the 1986 edition and yes it seemed kinda scam like at the time. But I was exceptional in one subject and deserved to be recognized nationally. I could also say High School was a scam. And I could say the State University I attended was a scam. Washington DC is a scam. I’m sure many people who post on the Internet are a scam.

Get over it. It is what it is, not a big deal just like high school sports. Have a little fun for Christ’s sake.

I am in it for 2 years straight

My son was to be included in the 2006-2007 book, I ordered it almost a year ago, it was to be distributed in September 07, I never received it, I phoned them in November, they said I never ordered one and that all printing has stopped, and I could probably find one at a library,. I’ve tried 12 libraries so far, none carry it. They gave me a fax number to fax a credit card statement proving I purchased it and they’d offer a refund. No refund has been forthcoming. This is an extremely rogue operation.

those books are SOOO dumb. they make you pay a ton of money so that dombody can stalk you. first of all, who would BUY that book? ONLY A STALKER. it has all your information in it! also, people who are super smart dont even get asked to be in that book, or cant afford it.

Answer #5

Who’s who books are largely scams. After a supposed rigorous selection process individuals are asked to buy an expensive book with their information in it or sometimes they are asked to pay for a larger entry or some made up honor.

AFAIK nobody ever looks in most of these books and the honor of inclusion is dubious at best.

Yes, back in 1982.

I was just reading it is a scam. I can’t find my bk and thought maybe I could find a website online and I came accross all this stuff about it being a huge scam!

The company, ECI, which published the “Who’s Who” books, ceased operations in 2007, largely due to ‘scam’ claims by colleges/universities, as well as parents and students. It was considered not a ‘valid’ honor because many students and parents would list erroneous honor information which was never confirmed by the company. If you were listed as a “Who’s Who” student, good luck trying to sell that as an honor on your college apps!!

Answer #9

Report fraud to the Federal Trade Commission or Department of Consumer Services or better yet the Department of Justice.
