What are some inexpensive ways to soundproof a room?
My boyfriend may end up moving in with my parents and I because he can’t get along with his mom or dad at all (it’s honestly really really bad..) and the only thing he’s worried about is that he makes a lot of noise at night because he games until the wee hours of the morning, and tends to get angry and yell. I was wondering if there were some cheap ways to sound proof a room?
There is some excellent advice at this site. Note that you want sound reduction, and not sound absorption (for studios - changing the characteristics of a sound). It can be cheap but there is some work involved!
I dont think your parents need to change their house to conform to him, I think your boyfriend needs to not stay up so late and play video games. It doesnt sound like a very healthy life style.
my parent’s don’t care. they just don’t want to hear him. and he makes money from gaming.
stick some foam to the walls maybe? dont trust me on that though
