If today you heard God's voice

If today you heard God’s voice, would you gladly listen or seek out a psychiatrist for an explanation? Do you agree that He often uses scripture, circumstances and people to communicate as well? Is prayer a two-way line of communication for you too?

Etyhvh tell you what Jane_of_the_jungle ; I’ll be the fool if it makes you happy

Etyh, you really don’t have to do it to make me happy :-)

I can tell you, I know where you coming from, I was there, not to long ago, in fact only a couple of months ago! I can only say: If one day, you’ve got the courage to put your believes and fear aside and read Religions wiki, Origin of religions, Religious belief and also Google god is imaginary and ex-christian.com. Read it and check the references (like I did) to see if they don’t make false claims. I have read the bible, so it is nothing new to me, but now only, I can see how delusional I myself was. Like you said, you are intelligent, so I believe if after you’ve finished reading these, you would be able to see the resemblance between aged old believes and all the current religions.

Take Care! :-)

To understand reality is not the same as to know about outward events. It is to perceive the essential nature of things. The best-informed man is not necessarily the wisest. Indeed there is a danger that precisely in the multiplicity of his knowledge he will lose sight of what is essential. But on the other hand, knowledge of an apparently trivial detail quite often makes it possible to see into the depth of things. And so the wise man will seek to acquire the best possible knowledge about events, but always without becoming dependent upon this knowledge. To recognize the significant in the factual is wisdom.

Proverbs 17:28~ Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

All types of people lie (bear false witness) Some choose not to and their word is their bond. Not all religious people are true believers. A true believer says what they mean, speak the truth, accept that they will have opposition and those who will question their motives and sensibilities.

Whatever is at the center of our life will be the source of our security, guidance, wisdom, and power. I intimately know the center of my life.

I will continue to listen for His voice.

Answer #3

Yeah I would listen but not many people hear the voice of God… God doesn’t just talk to us with a human voice.. but I believe God can speak to us through other people, and situations that happen in our lives and I even believe God can influence us through our dreams I had a extremely real and clear dream over a year ago about me walking into a building with a bunch of people my age I didnt know wearing red shirts and I woke up and the dream seemed extrmely real but it didnt seem to have any meaning then just this last week I went to mexico on mission trip with my church and we got to this church in mexico that we were staying in and they gave us red shirts to put on and we went in and it was total deja vu and I remembered the dream I had over a year ago so I think god can show us things to come and can influence our lives in many different ways..

Etyhvh - the only trauma I’m experiencing is that from answering the inane. Inane or you don’t really have answers to that or are incapable to see the resemblance? The Human brain is most capable to allow us to “hear voices” or hallucinate because of chemicals released in the brain, for example when: highly emotional, during heat stroke, extreme cold temperatures, traumatised, fear etc

If I swear to it, that a UFO landed in my back yard last night, would YOU believe me? Yes or No?

It really doesn’t matter, one in a million would, because he “wants” to believe it is true!

999 999 others “know” I could have hallucinated and know that there would have been evidence after this event and they also “know” that several factors like time travel, atmospheric pressure and our high oxygen level which could be poisonous to them, had to be overcome, before an alien would decide to pop in for a visit!

If you then believe “stories” which has been carried over from one person to the next and next and next … And generation to generation to be “fact” and cant think rational about it, and then go ahead!

Answer #5

lol lol you gotta be joking. People who know Him often hear him. Some only hear their “inner voice” or conscience and don’t recognize “the still small voice” promised by Christ, but as pointed out by a friend of ours in mail; all spirits are to be tested and are not necessarily of the L-RD. This is true. However, you don’t medicate away that which G-d wishes to communicate. True, it is not uncommon for the mentally ill to hear voices, only these are usually disjointed conversations and confusing. We don’t worship a G-d of confusion. It’s not His will that we are left wondering. I often hear (through reading, surfing, or other peoples communications) that “still small voice” saying “this is the right path, walk in it. Other times I hear “not now” or “never this” When I read scripture that is exceptionally true to my heart, I can hear G-d speak to me. The number one method I use in order to hear is to be perfectly still and to pray for guidance. Some call this meditation. Call it prayer or the latter; the key is to be still and willing to wait for an answer. Sometimes a verse comes to me. Sometimes the phone rings and it will be the answer I’ve asked for (a confirmation) I do know that He uses other people’s voices to speak as well. He once made a donkey talk- why not people?

Answer #6

I would tell god to leave me alone and go help people in third world countries living in poverty.

…seriously, god isn’t real and religion is a delusion, any educated person who hasn’t been brainwashed otherwise should realize that.

Answer #7

If today you heard God’s voice, would you gladly listen or seek out a psychiatrist for an explanation?

I’d tell God to bugger off (probably not as nicely) and to go make some other planet miserable and leave us alone.

Answer #8

Psh,I believe there is no god. So if I heard anyone from the sky,I’d tell them to shut the f* up…

Answer #9

Etyhvh - If you were a believer who’s word was their bond;

I hope you’re not suggesting religious people don’t lie, because like I’ve said in previous posts – Statistics has proved that rates of crimes like murders, rape, theft and smaller “sins” like lies, adultery, parents abusing their children and men abusing their wife’s!

As for your IQ - Unfortunately high IQ doesn’t mean high common sense!

You can be smart and still be wrong. You can have a high IQ and lack wisdom!

Answer #10

Lol, yes, I do wonder though, about all those people who pray to ‘him’ and yet have their babies die of starvation. Seems like ‘he’ only listens to some people. Quite a cruel ‘him’ you have there

Answer #11

Etyhvh - lol lol you gotta be joking. People who know Him often hear him.

Like widows hear their deceased husbands voices or a child’s voice who has passed away??? Is that even possible according to you or what is the possibility that trauma play a role in such situations?

Answer #12

If you were a believer who’s word was their bond; I might believe you saw something like a UFO. No need to swear … all I know is that I HAVE NOT been experiencing a 31 year hallucination (chemicals or not) My IQ is 147 and I came to my own conclusions by myself. I continue to hear God speak through many venues and IT WORKS FOR ME. To Him I say - thank you for every experience of life and “give me more” I will continue to “listen for His voice”

Answer #13

If you hear voices, see ghosts/spirits, believe someone is going to die when you hear an owl howl on the roof seek psychological help or suffer in silence!

Answer #14

Hmm, how would I know it was God’s voice and not a voice in my head? Have you heard schizophrenics? They sometimes truly believe they’re hearing God’s voice (of course that seems to go away with medication, guess medication is either more powerful, or maybe they were hallucinating?)

Answer #15

In the past I have prayed and begged to hear the voice of god, or even for him to give me some sort of significant sign that he’s there - I got nothing.

I’m an atheist for good reason, however, if the voice of God did manifest somehow, I would have to accept it.

Answer #16

I would assume my buddy dosed my drink.

Answer #17

GOD IS REAL !

JON 3:16!

Answer #18

the only trauma I’m experiencing is that from answering the inane. The question says God’s voice; does it not? Don’t mix apples with oranges. A village heard the donkey speak. What, were they all undergoing, a form of trauma? Abraham heard God, Enoch “walked AND talked” with Him. Christ did daily and sought out seclusion whereby He could more readily. Obviously; if you don’t believe it happens-it won’t, “for without faith it is impossible to please Him.”” All things are possible to him who believes” I believe- you don’t. Every piggy to his own puddle.

Answer #19

my condolences .. how tragic and sad.. I am restricted from saying what would come next (as a christian) - it’s against the rules… so, the closest I can come is to send you positive thoughts and well wishes that you will find solace in your good memories. I personally believe that sometimes people who are mentally or emotionally ill (even if briefly), will make the mistake of taking their own lives, especially if their faith has been compromised and they see no solutions to their immediate situation. I believe God has a plan for those who suffer from this form of depression and despair. I believe God makes provision for everybody who even calls upon His name. Let me rephrase that… “These whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified” The Greek word proorizo means to determine or decree beforehand. (Acts 2:23, 4:28; Rom. 8:29-30) . Foreordained -. When the names of the saved written in the Lambs book of life- They were foreordained before the foundations of the world That’s why I am convinced that many people are His and have yet to come to the knowledge of their destiny. ~ Many Blessings~

JON 3:16!

And your poof is?

Answer #21

many people who were once christians refuse to believe in God after a loved one dies because they think that it’s his fault. my cousin killed himself 3 months ago, it wasnt Gods fault, it was the devils fault. I, for one, believe in God. john 3:16
