How can I start going to church?

I was raised in a family that doesn’t go to church or practise any religion, but between my own curiousity & what I have been / am being taught by my christian friends, I want to start going to church. I’m a little afraid because I have no one to go with & I don’t know what to do.. I also want to learn more about religion but I am unsure.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU GO TO CHUCH, YOU NEED TO THINK ABOUT GETTING SAVED, IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY! I AM WELLING TO HELP YOU DO THAT! GOD BLESS~~~

You have to be careful and not get with the wrong group, what I would suggest is that you get your Bible(King James original translation),but first you have to make up your mind that you want God to save your soul. Then you have to truly confess with your mouth your sin’s and ask Him to forgive you! Then you except Jesus As the Son of God,and that He died for you to free you from this bondaged of the flesh ,and start and read your Bible with your heart, and as you read it will be like the Bible is talking to you and it becomes a personal relationship between you and the Lord Jesus Christ.Read it expecting God to do something for you ,then you ask Him from your heart,to put you in the right church,He said in His word if you ask anything in My name the name of Jesus Christ and belive without douting He will give it to you,go to a church that preaches Christ ,that He died and arose again for you. Thank you Steve Carnes. Just ask for me!

Go to lots of churches. If you don’t have much experience with different traditions, the best way to become acquainted is to visit as many as you can get to. There are really good books that explore different religions, summarizing what they believe. It’s only helpful to pick up a copy if you think that you would be more comfortable going to a church if you knew a little about what they preach. If your friends are discussing their church with you, you’re fortunate to have such considerate friends. Perhaps their church is equally open and inviting. Although you might be uncomfortable visiting different churches the first few times you go, you’ll find that it gets easier and you’ll get more comfortable the more you visit, and the more churches you visit. It’s also a good idea, whenever you visit a church that you liked to make an appointment with the Priest or Pastor to discuss their church and what they believe. If you take your time and ask a lot of questions, you’ll find that you will find a church and worship experience that is right for you.

Answer #4

Ask your family to try out going to church with you. They might start believing, too. If they aren’t up to it, you can always go with your friends. And if all else fails, get yourself a bible and self-teach yourself until your old enough to drive to church.

Answer #9

I think you should just tell your friends that you would like to go to church with them. My parents is the same way. They dont like to go to church. They went a couple times and thats it and i loved being at church and so i just go by myself. I can understand that your afraid i was to but actually going by yourself isnt scary at all because you have the Lord right there with you and everyone in church and its just a blessing. Well i hope you find this helpful!

Answer #10

I would research various religions. If you already know, start to go with your friends. If you don’t like their church, try a new one. Buy a Bible(if its Christianity that you want). Talk to the preacher at the church you end up in, any true preacher would be thrilled to show someone the way, its a Christian’s purpose on Earth. Grow to know and love God and, when you are ready, get saved. Don’t do anything too hasty, this is your eternal soul you are dealing with. Then let God show thru you as you grow in Him. Maybe your family will notice the change and feel the need to have it, too. It can be a long and hards struggle, but it is well worth it to know someone is watching over you and loves you no matter what.

I know I have already answered this question and would like to answer more, the bottom line is this, you have to live your life as best as you can wheather you belive or not,in the Bible it states that you must worship God in Spirit because He is spirit.Their are many socalled bibles and many religons but there is only one that is time tested and that has gone through all the test.To belive in God you also have to belive in satin,to belive in good you have to belive in evil and know that it works against each other,so for everygood thing that you have you also have a bad thing working against it,so if you belive in God then you have to belive His Word and if you read it and ask Him to help and give you understanding because this is what He told us to do.Frist you must know that the Bible tells us that there is no true understanding without frist receving His Spirit. The Word of God was written by men under the annointing of God and you have got to recive It the same way, under the same God filled annointing, not satin filled.Their is enough truth in God’s Word to get it if you Belive in Him thank you Steve
