How to tell my parents that I'm ready for another dog?

My collie just died in May.. he was veryyy close to the family. we all loved him! and my mom and dad both are huge dog lovers! theyve had many dogs come and go in the past, but he was my first dog, and he was seriously like my bestfriend.. I want another dog, because I love having one around and I love the thought of one being there I don’t know if my family is ready for another dog, but I am. and I don’t know how to ask my parents!!

Mom, Dad - would it be all right if we got another dog ? - I wish you the best and I’m sorry for the loss of your dog - I’ve got a Border Collie…Take care !!

I know how it feels to lose a pet. I love my dogs. I wouldnt recommend getting a pitbull though. Where live, many people get mauled by them, its horrible. I would get a lab. They are so loyal! Anyways I would just say to your parents: Mom, Dad, could we get another dog? I feel better having one around and I want to get use to having another one. Please?

You just slowly tell them not all at once. I think if you think your ready for a dog they should consider that… Just in case give your parents some tym I should know its been 5 years since they took my dog away and literally when I think about it I cry

Answer #4

I would just say “I feel lost without a dog in our home”. (I would) I believe it is time we begin to consider another pet. I bet your parents are ready too, if they are the dog lovers you say they are. A home is just empty without a dog in my opinion.

Answer #6

just coz loads of ppl get attacked by pitbulls does not mean they r all aggressive. Staffy’s have a reputation on being agressive but my grandma has 1 and he is the friendliest dog ever! :) its how they r handled, if handled roughly then they are far more likely 2 be aggressive
