I like cooking but I dont

okay so the title doesn’t really make sense but I couldn’t think of one… Alright well I love to cook but a lot of times I’m too lazy to cook. I’m more likely to cook for someone else than myself though is it weird that I would rather cook for another person rather than myself? I’m a pretty good cook and I love my food but I just don’t have motivation unless another person is involved… anyone care to explain or share any thoughts on that?

Answer #1

I’m in the same boat as you. I only cook at work. as a chef. at home I wont cook. I’ll get take away

Answer #2

Sounds like a symptom of ‘Bacheloritus’ - don’t worry, not permanent !!

Answer #3

Answer #4

Answer #5

yeah I know how you feel

I love cooking to death

but I’ll never do it unless my boyfriend is over

but I wont for my little sister…

strange. =)

Answer #6

Many people are like that - especially those who enjoy cooking.

You want to share your passion with someone else, and when you are cooking only for yourself, you have nobody to impress.

Answer #7

hahaha dude I love to cook italian but one thing I haven’t got down too good is frying rice… I always burn it… boiling okay but not frying… haha dude I made some amazing steak tenderloin wrapped it in bacon and broiled it.. it was amazing

Answer #8

That’s awesome. Another guy who loves to cook. I live in the south, and they think it’s big time weird that a guy likes to cook. Serious cook, not boiling ramen, or throwing a Pizza in the microwave, or making toast.

Answer #9

You can’t fry rice?! I’m ashamed to call you a fellow cook…

Haven’t tried the steak one before. Ought to next time I have the money to invest in some.

Answer #10

I enjoy the break when I don’t have to cook for anyone!! If I am by myself, I’d rather just snack rather than “cook” an actual meal!!

Nah, it’s not weird - I think we all go through it at some time or another! :)
