I just need help, should I give it time?

what would you do if you were in this situation:

you have liked this guy for a very, very long time. and things were going good between the two of you, and his friend tells you that he wants to ask you out, but then people at school are saying that he hates you and doesnt like you. but then you go on the bus to go home, and the guy is in your bus and always sits in a seat right next to yours. and today him and his friend sit next to the seat your in, and his friend asks yoou if you like the guy and why and if you had ever done “things” with him and stuff. and you say I don’t know to liking him. because you know that hes sitting right there. then your friend asks the guy if they like you, and the guy says no. you and this guy have been hangin out for at least 3 years and one summer you hung out every single day and never were apart, and you guys did everything together from, swimming, basball and pretty much everything.

what would you do? I like this guy sooo soo much and I did try asking him before if he liked me and stuff but he never answered my text back. and I cant call him because of his minutes. and I asked my mom because shes good with this stuff and she saiid that he really does like me and to just see what happends. I just hnf out with him on friday with some friends in his basment, and it was a lot of fun, he kept looking at me and smiling, and he would look directly into my eyes. I love him soo much and I really dont want to loos him, please helpp
