How would your dog act if it is epileptic?

My dog is a full blooded american bulldog. She is about 6 months old.. And the whole time weve had her she has been hyper and playful. But about an hour ago she came in from a walk.. And I noticed she was breathing hard and shaking.. I yelled her name an she fell to the ground.. I got her up and she just went wild.. Running through the house non stop.. And when she did stop she was acting as if she was off balance real bad.. Weve had her laying down for about thirty mins and when we’ve tried to wake her she acts like she is to weak to respond.. Please help?!?! I don know what to do?

I think she ate something my boyfriend said he thinks he dropped some of my medicine..so im sure thats what it was. the medicine was neurontin. and it has a lot of side affects but she is wayy better now! thank youu!

Epilepticseizures can take many forms…from a full fledged seizure (grand mal), which would be hard to miss…to basically spacing out, and seeming to be ‘not there’ (petit mal)…

This, however, doesn’t sound at all like epilepsy…tho it does sound neurological. Toxins can cause neurological problems, too. Could she have gotten into anything and ate it…rotten meat, garbage, pesticide, medication…anything? I don’t like the fact that her balance seems so affected (that could be something with her inner ear)…or the non-responsiveness…these are critical signs of something.

PLEASE take this pup to the Vet. Whatever is wrong sound far too risky to simply ‘wait and see’.

I doubt she has epilepsy, she wouldn’t run around after a seizure. You should probably still take her to the vet.
