How will the forest be affected by deforestation?

Answer #1

Basically, it disappears - deforestation means literally that: the forest cover is cut down or otherwise removed.

How that will affect the world, inclujding us humans, has been widely researched.

We know that the world’s forests, especially the rainforests, are vital in keeping the atmosphere and its gases properly balanced. (All plants do this, but big trees are especially efficient)

Forests actually attract cloud and rain, which will then seep into the ground water and into the rivers. Whern the forest cover is removed, the land starts to dry up.

And when the land dries out, it becomes prone to erosion and well as getting blown away - so precious top soil (the layer where plants - including our foodcrops - grow) disappears.

And that leaves us with a dry, less fertile world.
