1)The sum of 3 consecutive odd numbers is 39.

  1. The Perimeter of a rectangle is 600. The length of the rectangle is 2 more than 3 times the width.

  2. 3 times the first of three consecutive numbers is 4 more than 2 times the second.

Answer #1

I don’t give answers, but I will try to give hints:

1.) You have only one unknown number here. The second number is just the first one plus 2 (it’s 2 more than the lowest). Then the next is 4 more than the lowest one.

2.) w = width; and length = 3w+2; Perimeter = (width2) + (length2)

3.) The 3 CONSECUTIVE numbers are designated in the manner of the three consecutive ODD numbers in #1. Then 3 the first = 4+ (2 the second).

Answer #2
  1. x + x+1 + x + 2 = 39 3x = 39 - 3 3x = 36 x = 12 12 + 13 + 14 = 39
