How to fix 3 red rings for 360?

I have the 3 rings of death on my 360. It happened when I was playing, and I have a intercooler on it.

Did the inter cooler effect my 360?

WHat can I do to fix it?

ANd when I cut my 360 on now it makes a skipping sound. WHen ever you had the three rings did it do that?

If I send it in to get fixed How much money will microsoft charge me?

u need thermal paste and screws then basicly you secure the heat sinks to the mobo with the screwsa as opposed to the x clamp and 8 out of 10 times your good to go

if you have a guarantee on it, you can get it fixed for free by Microsoft. and if its expired, I think its still free…or unless its the halo edition. anyways you can call them to make sure, but whatever you do don’t open your x box.

Not sure if this will help, but if there’s no way you can get it fixed for free, try doing what my boyfriend did. He took his hard drive out, took his xbox to Gamestop, they didn’t check it & he got credit for it. Then he bought a used xbox without putting much money in. Not sure if it’ll work, but it’s worth a try if all else fails :]

Its not three red rings… Its called the RING OF DEATH. Everyone knows that. The best thing you can do is send it off. If you bought the warrenty for it, it want cost anything to fix it.
