How to cut curly hair?

So I have long curly hair. But when I flat iron it, it looks very blah and one dimensional. So I want to cut my hair to give it some movement, while its flat ironed. Nothing major just a few shaping cuts. But I talked to my mother and she said that I should go somewhere to get it done, because they will prollie cut it wet and that if I tried to do it myself I would do it improperly and end up cutting against the curl instead of wit the curl and have frizzy ends. I want to know if there is anyone who know how to cut curly hair the proper way or cutting straight hair that is naturally curly. Because I do not want to go somewhere and pay 20 bucks for two snips lol

it probably is best to just go to the salon. they will cut your curly hair.. maybe put some layers in it and thin out some certian areas so it doesn’t look like an afro when it is curly. trust me, it will be worth the 20 dollars.

Answer #2

You should go get it done by a professional. I took several haircutting classes and still I wouldn’t even dare to cut my own hair, thats crazy talk. $20 for two snips, are you crazy? Its so much more then just two snips, hair cutters do several things with hair to make it the way the customer wants it. So what… you’d rather pay nothing and end up with really messed up hair? Don’t be cheap. I cut my own bangs because I can clearly see them, but anything else would turn out a wreck.
