How to cope with a sibling attending the same college?

*Hi there, I’m a freshman attending college and I’m about to begin my second semester. I just came to find out that my brother will be attending the same college with me and I was at first, happy but then again I was feeling quite overwhelmed. I haven’t been in the same school with him since elementary and middle school. And now having to pretty much see him around campus puts me in a shock because I want to live my life and focus on me without having to think about anyone trying to tell on me. 1)He has just gotten accepted two days ago and now he needs to get everything ready by next week, which in my opinion not enough time for him. He doesn’t even have a laptop and I’m the only one who has one and I don’t want him to borrow mines just for the fun of it, when it’s MINES!!! 2)Another thing is, it’s a religious college and he is nowhere as spiritual as he should be and I have been trying to warn him and tell him the rules that he has to follow, I really want him to continue his education but not in the same school I’m attending.

*Any advice. Thank you for reading!!!

Well, you cant decide whether or not he goes there. You can tell him your feelings and ask him not to but that might hurt him. You can also switch colleges or you can learn to accept it. Those are really your only options.

Wow… Hun you are in collage.. sorry for saying this, but grow up!! First it dont matter if he ‘tells’ on you because you are old enough to make your own descisions. Also.. You dont have to hang around him or anything, just live your life. Im not close with my brother, but if we went to the same collage I wouldnt care. Your life dont have to revolve around him just because he is there.. Chill out and grow a little.
