I’m bi and I know it’s hard to come out to your parents. Sadly, I’ve come out to everyone in my family except for my mom. My brother and sister took it in stride and my dad was… let’s just say he knows. What I have been having the worst time with is my mom is… well, MY MOM. She’s the one that I’ve argued about boys with and it just isn’t the same when that arguement is centered around a girl right?

My advice is to approach the subject in whatever way is best to bring it up to her. Remember the “TALK”? How awkward it was? Well, however you two got through it might apply here. If the best way to broach the subject to her is to sit her down and tell her gently, by all means, do that. My mom, however, is going to be something like a (not exactly) reverse intervention… if that makes any sense.

But, to be safe, be prepared for a blow up. It happened with my dad (my parents are not together btw) and I was told to go home. My dad didn’t know how to handle it, and some people don’t… Just be safe and always have a plan B. Also, it might be good to have your friends know that you’re coming out to your mom. My best friend had a very bad experience coming out to her father. She swears to this day that knowing she has friends who stood by her helped her get through her… ordeal.

I’m sorry if that was counter productive, but my advice is sound: Be attuned to the best way to approach the topic to her, and be prepared for anything. I hope that I’ve helped you. Now I just have to put the advice I gave YOU to work for me. Best of luck to you, and wish me luck. I’m gonna need it…

I would be straight forward hun. Say how ‘rew636’ started it. Mom, I’m dating someone and I want you to know, that it’s a girl. Than wait for a response. If she doesn’t for a minute. Start to give her some nonprivate details.. like she is nice to you, and you enjoy her company, etc. Just think about what you will say incase she doesn’t say anything. Don’t bring the ring up until she is calm (she has to be accepting and understading towards you and your girlfriend)..

I hope I helped! Need more help, just fun mail me :) I’ll be happy to help! I had to deal with this Bi-stuff with my brother… it was hard for him, I help him. I’m straight and in a amazing rship. But I know how you are, cause my brother is Bi; and things are tough for him…

Answer #3

if I were your mum, I’ll be mad at you.4 it isnt aapproved in the eyes of God,I dont know 4 d laws of your country but its illegal in my country,so its also not approved in the eyes of man… hey you dont have to be a lesbien, make that im bi of yours understand… perhaps there is nothing cool in hidden stuffs. think twice.u really think you are in love?

Answer #4

if she loves you she will exept you’re realationship , but if you’re family’s very christian they may take it ruff , but no matter what she says just stay with the girl you love :) remember to bring it on lightly-

Answer #5

Altho I sorta agree wit kelseelover, I believe god loves us all no matter who we date. Just tell her. If sge loves you she’ll b ok with it. If I were u, I’d just say I was dating someone, say her name, an if she asks bout the name just tell her. Hope this helps! :) <3

Answer #6

you have to sit her down hopefully your mom is ok b/c my mom said if I am not striaght I can’t live at this house so be careful -kaitlyn

Answer #7

WELL I THINK YOU SHOULD JUST B REAL WITH YOU MOM && IF SHE LOVE YOU SHE WILL UNDERSTAND THAT IF THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY OL WELL

HOPE IT HELP :)

Answer #8

uhhh…just tell her and see what happens, but at some point your gonna have to anyways, so just make it sooner rather than later, and show her the ring to :)

Answer #9

Kelseelover did not even get the bible story correct so don’t listen to them. The story has nothing to do with being gay, it has to do with being self absorbed and forsaking a righteous life. But that is besides the point!

My son came out a year ago. He was nervous about it but all we said was OK. We love him and will stand behind who he is. Tell your Mom. Be patient with her while she processes the information. Since you were born she has had images in her head about what life you may lead and she will just need to re-adjust them.

Answer #10

I really hate people that say your going to hell for being gay! that piss me off! IF GOD DIDNT WANT you TO DATE THE SAME SEX WHY THE HELL HE GAVE you THEM FEELING FOR? HE CONTROL ERR THING WHY DIDNT HE just MAKE you LIKE THE OPPISITE SEX!!! but in the bible God says he loves everyone and if he send you to hell for being gay.., I am sevring the WRONG god, and I wouldnt want to sevre a god like that!!! xoxoxo and I hope you really tell your mom and be truthful

Answer #11

well listen to this you may hate me but in gods eyes we should be straight forward there was a story in the bible about all kinds of bis and homosexuals and lesbians and gays it talks about how there was angels coming from the heaven and the humans were wanting to have sex with these angels they were beutiful and god made them all walk away from it and dont ever ever look back well someoe lookked back and fell to ashess so I am sayin dont date the girl dump her give her the ring back and never go back to that again because you might fall to ashes you never no god is very powerful

Answer #12

Answer #13

come straight out about it, and im sure she’ll except you, mean shes your mom. she gave birth to you. and yea i kno that not everyone is as approving of it. and not all religions accept it eaither, but its always worth the try, and your mom would probs rath you tell her than find out on her own…
