okay, I know was like 5 months ago when you posted this, but I’m going to reply anyways. My brother is somewhat like you. Of corse, he has other issues, but he is bipolar. He used to have extreme highs and lows all the time, but because of his other issues, he’d act literally high, like he was on drugs or something. He was born with it though, so his toddler and baby years were abnormal. what is normal anyways?? Eitheir way, he was tested for a mental illness. I think he was about 8 though, anyways, you can get tested, but your parents and doctors have to all agree that the problem is more; that the problem is extreme, affecting you physically and emotionally. I know it sounds lame, but you might consider talking to your parents about this, as most do try to be there for you. I hope you get help because a lot of mental disorders go untreated, which sucks for the patient, as disorders don’t go away overnight. I know I’m late, but I hope I helped you a little bit. If you ever want to chat, feel free.

sorry, I know that some Doctors believe this- I’ve heard it said, but its a grievious error to conclude that all people who are mentally ill, are in denial and that they are incapable of any disasocciation (or dissociation) from the things that are going on in their heads.

Whilst beeing ‘Up and down’ can be symptomatic of manic depression, but I wouldn’t make that assumption and dont think you should, without consulting several clinical psychiatrists. It is more likely that you are a person of strong will, as I was in my case, with the ability to break free from your depression from time to time, and in doing so, experience a sort of delerious / ectsatic relief . What do YOU think?

A doctor is your best bet,

I am 26 years old and have suffered from Depression from an early age. I was diagnosed with Clinical depression and went through pretty much most of the symptoms you have described with are in themselves very frightening for you. I used to cry constantly all day everyday, I couldnt leave the house, I even had to share a bed with my mum I was so paranoid,

I used to see a Psycologist 3 times a week , my education suffered terribly because of this, because I was so withdrawn.

Depression can be so bad that you Physically cant get out of Bed, i used to get tired of crying on the floor all the time,

But hey Depression is a Illness, go have a chat with your doctor, they will be able to help you ,wether it be by Councelling, or medicine, or other.

Have you anyone you could talk to about this , maybe one / both of your parents.

You know what though Hun everybody has ups and downs, it will only make you a stronger person ,

I hope this helps you let me know. x

Having had mental illness for a very very long time, i know that they only way to be diagnosed is to go to your doctor. If necessary he will refer you to a psychologist or psychiatrist. No one can tell you what you have unless they are professionaly trained. You have recently lost your bf so you are going through a stressfull time. You need to tell your doctor everything that has happened, how you feel, and how long this has been going on and only then can they help you. Go see your doctor as soon as possible.

Good Luck.

Answer #6

i dont think your mentally ill but im no expert. All i can say is my mum has a mental illness. And with her and most other people with a mental illness they cannot see that they have any problems. They believe there in perfect health and what is going on in there head is real . So the fact that you can regognise your feelings and are concerned about them may show that your ok. Maybe your just suffering a bit of depression but as i said im no expert. Im just talking from expeirance but definetly go to the doc as advised to see if your suffering depression. they are more qualified than me. But dont worry everone has strange thoughts from time to time.
