NO….. Most decent and respectable hotels will ask guests for their credit card as a security bond in case you wreck the room or take stuff from the rooms. Also, most hotels required a credit card number to hold the booking when you make a reservation. If you are working for a company and you do not have a credit card, why not ask your work if they can fax the business purchase order number through to hotel in order to hold the booking for you on behalf of the company and when you arrive you pay them upfront for the night/s stay.

Where I live, you don’t need a credit card. Every hotel I have been in we paid cash…I know this because my parents don’t have credit cards.

Are you sure it is not a motel? Most hotels would want a credit card as stated in my answer. Try travelling to different places around the world Angelee and see if you can get away with paying cash for your room. :-) I know in Oz, there are motels that will let you pay cash for the room, but they require a cash security bond upfront when you check in…When you check out, if the condition of the room is fine and the mini-bar hasn’t been raided, they give you the full cash security bond back.
