Does he love me?

ok thats really helpful thanks. monday I asked him why he kissed me and he said because he cares more about me than he does about life and that he loves me and wanted to make that as clear as possible and then he said something that almost gave me a heart attack he said and I’ll quote h him “I promise you that one day we will be more than best friends I swear we will but just not to soon but the day will come” so do you think he really means it? this guy is totally amazing he never lets anything happen to me I mean we walk down the hallway talking and he’ll have his arm around my back ( because one day I hit a wet spot ont he floor and fell and bashed my head of the ground) just to make sure I dont fall. then whether it be just me and him or me, him and my firend josh and ricky sitting theere talking he’ll always keep putting his arm around me, or rubbing shoulder or just like hugging me or sitting really really close to me. the problem is though he has a little schoolboy crush on a friend of mine who has a boyfriend and is like 4 years older than him and he said something about as soon as he gets over that then thats when we can be more than firends do you think he’ll ever get over it?

You’re real in his life, the crush is just a fantasy. Just enjoy what you have with him and go with that. Don’t forget to enjoy what you have rather than agonizing about what you don’t have. If you plant a seed you don’t keep digging it up to see of it’s growing, you just nurture it and then suddenly you have a flower or whatever. This is what you have to do with love.

I would say that he really does love you, but the question is “at what stage of love is he showing?”.. If anything you just might need to clarify what kind of love he has for you . Then ask yourself “Do I love him?” or “Why do I love him?”…

How long are you willing to wait? Its clear that…hes only keeping you around as backup in case things dont work out with the other girl! If he truly loved you, he would be with you. That proves hes more into her than he is you!

Yes, I totally think he loves you! keep being his freind. You will scare him off if you rush him into anything. Stay the same, Men dont like change!

That is awful! He knows you are drooling over him, so he leads you on, and then tells you he likes someone else? Don’t put up with being his “back burner” option. You are better than that. I can think of three reasons he would do this, and none of them are in your best interests.

  1. He likes to have control over you.
  2. He wants to have the option to screw you later, if his crush doesn’t work out, or until his opportunity opens up.
  3. He has such low self esteem, he doesn’t feel he deserves happiness.

Depending on how much effort he puts into you, I’m leaning towards 3, since he has developed a crush on someone he doesn’t have a chance with.
