Go ahead and try those methods, and when they don’t work - and they won’t - accept the fact that your behavior is what made them ground you in the first place. Accept their grounding, behave well (DO NOT kiss up, that is manipulation and parents DO NOT LIKE THAT), and earn their trust the honest way.

Parents are WELL aware of those little kid attempts to get out of grounding - they tried them many years ago when they were kids … and they didn’t work then (unless they were about 5 years old).

I’m sorry you were grounded. If it is REALLY important to go to something - a once a year thing, for instance - they MIGHT be open to allowing that if you are actually sorry for your behavior, and ask if they will allow this one thing only, and then you are back on being grounded for possibly additional time, or some extra punishment (wash the car, do dishes for a week, etc.) BUT if you ‘F’ up any break they give you, expect to never get a break for a long time to come.
