What is a healthier version of a grilled cheese?

Like i dont want to use butter.

Well, margarine isn’t necessarily healthier though it is lower in fat. I would suggest skipping the butter entirely, just grill it with a sandwich press, or you could use olive oil, just sprinkle it on a pan and then grill it that way. And rather than white bread, use whole grain. You can add some veggies to your grilled cheese, diced fresh tomato, peppers, spinach, etc. Also avoid american cheese, or any of that processed stuff, and opt for low-fat cheese.

Coconut oil works well and is considered a very healthy oil which metabolized quickly in your body. Try using sprouted grains bread which can be found in the freezer/natural foods section of your grocery store. Cheese is cheese at the end of the day so if you’re wanting to indulge in a grilled cheese, I would just go ahead with whatever cheese you would normally use. Just keep an eye on the ingredients in low-fat foods because sometimes they sneak in or require additional ingredients which may potentially be worse for your body as it can be more difficult for your body to process. Another idea would be to try some avocado instead of cheese with olives, peppers, etc. Done up on a sandwich press, it is much healthier and much more flavourful in the end then a plain old grilled cheese. Yum!

Start with a good whole grain bread that lists “whole grain flour” or “whole wheat flour” as the first ingredient. Also, make sure your bread has at least 3 grams of fiber per slice.
