Then learn a A power cord which is used in a lot of musick. lern that then learn a minor pentonic scale (ignore the half steps) play the scale up and down. this scale is also a blues scale. in tab it looks like this

yea thats what im saying my friend is progressing really fast in our lessons but I really am not and I was wondering what it is that makes him better than me?

Guitar is fairly easy to learn. And it’s a lot of fun. Starting a band is something an accomplished musician thinks about. You are putting the cart before the horse.

Well, I suggest you get an instructor. You should be able to read notes and be familiar with the notes on the guitar, but as they say, knowing three chords is knowing 1000 songs! Best of luck to you!
