Where and how can I find band mates?

I’ve tried online band/musician seeking website but their just bullshitting me for money. Or if non-pay, nobody uses it. Keep in mind, I’m a New Yorker. Anything in Suffolk, where could I find people? Anything in the real world, how can I find people? Furthermore, should I hold auditions or make friends for that?

I’d try and put up a notice on a place like Kijiji or Craigslist, hold an audition and you may find that perfect one. Good luck :)

You know, sometimes word of mouth is best. You get to know people and share common musical interests. I was in a band years ago and that’s how we all met and started playing. We played “out” as we called it back then.

Post a message on local bulletin boards or advertise in your local ‘I Wanna’ paper….Good Luck !

craigslist works, my sister does that all the time

Check out the music store where you buy your gear. They may have a bulletin board for people looking for just that.
